Kaleigh and Chris became acquainted in 2012 when the two Greek life members became teammates on the same intramural football team at Valdosta State University. They are now engaged to be married Spring 2018 in Monroe, Georgia. They have become one of OneTouch Events’ favorite couples. Things have not always gone as planned for Kaleigh and Chris. In 2016 Chris proposed to Kaleigh and she enthusiastically said, yes. BUT this proposal did not go as planned. Chris’ family goes on an annual ski trip in Colorado. In 2016, Kaleigh joined the family for the trip and a night that she had no idea would be taking place. Chris had the perfect plan! On day two of the trip home and his entire family would trek up the mountain to take their annual family photo where he would really be getting down on one knee to propose to the love of his life. Plans changed!
A day prior, Kaleigh’s first ski lesson was a little rougher than she had expected, and she had not quite grasped the breaking method. Her lack of confidence yielded no desire to revisit the mountaintop until she had perfected breaking. With the support of his entire family plans were redirected. For dinner that evening the family dined at Allred’s Restaurant. Following dinner, they took a walk to downtown Telluride, Colorado where they ran into the perfect backdrop for the “family photo” that did not happen earlier that day. As everyone pulled out their camera’s to take Chris and Kaleigh’s picture Chris dropped to one knee and popped the question.
Since their engagement, plans have constantly been changing for Chris and Kaleigh. Their wedding date and venue changed mid-planning when Kaleigh’s father took an extended visit to the ICU for a medical emergency. With these changes came new caterers, new entertainment, new layouts, and new accommodations. Plans changed when our new DJ realized he was actually booked for another wedding on their date. Plans changed when we thought our photography options might be limited to the venue’s preferred list. And the plans changed most drastically in September when the first love of Kaleigh’s life, her father, unexpectedly passed away while recovering. Through all the ups, downs, twist, and turns the love has remained. Kaleigh and Chris are two of the sweetest, most genuine people we have ever met. With every change is an understanding smile and OneTouch to come up with a new plan. We are so grateful to have couples like Chris and Kaleigh in the OneTouch family. Wedding planning is accompanied by constant change. When you have a couple that trusts your judgment to handle the changes it makes an ever-changing industry that much easier to be a part of.
The plans can change a million times, so long as the love remains as planned!
